Current Event
The picture is about a group discussing current events.
Everyone is assigned a topic. For example: economy, environment and culture, are among the selected topics. We print it out and share the news our group mates. This broadens our international perspective, safeguarding us from the fate of falling out of tempo with the rest of humanity.
In addition, we talked about chapter two in the book Justice, which investigates the conundrums of utilitarianism, personal rights, and conflicts these two ideals cause when colliding, and the paradoxes both cause when existing simultaneously in a single paragraph.

This is the book we are using for or social studies class: Justice. Justice is a course in Harvard university, and the professor of this course is named Michael Sandel, who wrote his teachings into a book of the same name. His classes have also been broadcasted, due to the high amount of multi-cultural content, which also includes social welfare, freedom, virtues, economy and humanitarianism and many more topics worth discussion and thought.
The following is a common and well known philosophical question-"The Trolley problem":
For the sake of argument, let us pretend that you are a trainmaster, and while you are on duty, the brakes to the train break in a freak accident, while in the now far but rapidly growing closer distance, five engineers are working in the railroad and are unable to evacuate in time. A moment later, you notice a switch in the tracks that lead to a alternate path. However, this path has one engineer who likewise is unable to escape the train.
would you decide to continue down the path with no alterations, striking the five engineers, or would you choose the alternate and spare the five men while dooming the other to certain death? Is exchanging one life for five a acceptable bargain?
